Experience the extraordinary this summer in our new concert series featuring distinguished chamber musicians from the Curtis Summerfest faculty! These remarkable artists, many of them Curtis alumni, perform a variety of repertoire-from beloved classics to the music of today-in the timeless setting of Field Concert Hall.

Hear Katherine Needleman (’99), principal oboe of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and Steven Copes (’94), concertmaster of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, alongside other Curtis Summerfest faculty in Mozart’s Oboe Quartet in F major. Weston Sprott (Trombone ’06) of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra performs music by Ravel; and the program also includes works from YASP composition faculty Shinuh Lee and David Ludwig.

Performance 1
Alexander Ullman, a 2013 graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, offers a bouquet of Chopin favorites. A winner of the Liszt Competition in Budapest while still a student, he has toured extensively in Europe, India, China, and the U.S.

Curtis on Tour appears in Athens, Greece, as the resident ensemble at the Nights of Classical Music at the Gennadius Library festival, presented by the Schwarz Foundation in collaboration with the American School of Classical Studies at Athens.

Performance 2
Singers from the Curtis Opera Theatre perform opera arias and duets, musical theatre classics, and gems from the art song repertoire with pianist Mikael Eliasen, artistic director of the Curtis Opera Theatre. The program will include works by Mozart, Handel, Donizetti, and Bernstein. Curtis alumni are engaged regularly at the world's great opera houses and professional training programs.

Students, faculty, and alumni from the renowned Curtis Institute of Music perform a recital of vocal and instrumental chamber music. Repertoire will include works for voice, cello, and piano as well as selections by Rossini and Bernstein.
