Lenfest Hall Tops Off!

On June 23, 2010, over 125 members of the Curtis family, including donors to the new building, students, faculty, staff, neighbors, and government representatives gathered in a festive atmosphere to witness the topping off of Lenfest Hall at 1616 Locust Street. Guests gained an inside look - literally - at the new rehearsal hall and facility, slated to open on schedule next summer. Read more.

 

 Honoring the Lenfests

Thanks to the extraordinary generosity and vision of H. F. “Gerry” and Marguerite Lenfest, Curtis will realize a major goal of its Strategic Plan when Lenfest Hall opens in August 2011. Located at 1616 Locust Street, just doors away from Curtis's other main buildings, Lenfest Hall will truly transform the Curtis landscape for students, faculty, and staff. Read more.

 

The Student Perspective

Rebecca “Becky” Anderson is a violinist studying with Ida Kavafian. At the groundbreaking ceremony in April 2009, she spoke as the student representative about Lenfest Hall, the generosity of the Curtis donor community, and what this new facility will add to the student experience.
